PERFORMING ARTS
In addition to our civil rights and educational work, we help our members take advantage of the fact we live in one of the most vibrant cultural centers in the world. We regularly organize trips to see plays or musicals at East West Players in Little Tokyo (at a discounted price) and annually bring award-winning films or performances to the San Fernando Valley Japanese American Community Center in Pacoima. On a smaller, more intimate scale, we also organize monthly outings to watch a movie and have lunch. And, at the end of the year, our activities conclude with a holiday potluck with music and dancing for all of our members and their friends and families.
Below are some examples of the artistic projects we have visited or brought to the JACC in the past few years. For more information about any of these events, please contact us here.

San fernando valley hbt obon

Obon, 2012
Each year the San Fernando Valley JACL also participates in the Hongwanji Buddhist Temple's Obon festival. If you're feeling lucky, come by our booth to play an exciting game of "dougball." If you have the skills, you can win some dough. All proceeds help fund our programs.
Nikkei Village Tea

Prepping for the 2009 Nikkei Village Tea
To honor the elders of our community, each year the San Fernando Valley JACL organizes an afternoon tea filled with entertainment, games, good food and other surprises at Nikkei Village Retirement Community. Check back for further updates on the next tea.
