SAN FERNANDO VALLEY JACL INTERNSHIP
[STATuS: NOT ACTIVE]

In 2014, we partnered with the other districts in the JACL Pacific Southwest District Office to sponsor a summer long intern to participate in the Local Leaders Program.  Local Leaders is a 3-month leadership program (June-August) that develops young adults (ages 18-25) to engage in community leadership, public service and a grassroots organizing project during their time on a nonprofit board. Each intern will be placed with a local JACL-PSW chapter board, in order to make meaningful community connections, as well as learn and address issues facing the community of that area.

After a long selection process, the PSW office selected Louise Fonua, who brings to the chapter an extensive background in community organizing around food justice and sustainability.
